Painting Commissions
Step 1: Let’s Talk
Every custom painting begins with a conversation.
I’d love to hear what you’re envisioning for your home or business — the colors, mood, proportions, style, and feeling you want the piece to hold. Whether you already have a specific idea or are just beginning to explore, this first step helps us shape a painting that reflects your story, your aesthetic, and the kind of beauty you want to live with every day.

Step 2: The Subject
What place, memory, or feeling would you love to bring into your space?
You’re welcome to share a reference photo of a landscape, location, or meaningful moment that evokes something special for you. Together, we’ll talk about what draws you to that image — the peace, nostalgia, belonging, or inspiration it carries. A commissioned painting can be a beautiful way to honor a place you love and create something far more personal than generic wall art. I often write words of intention, prayer, or positivity on the canvas before I begin, so that your thoughts and meaning are quite literally embedded into the painting.

Step 3: The Perfect Size
Finding the right scale helps the artwork truly feel at home in your space.
Before we begin, I offer a complimentary digital mockup that shows the reference photo or a similar painting to scale in your home or office. This helps you confidently choose the best canvas size and crop for your wall. Paintings can be created on standard-size canvases, or for an additional fee, I can prepare a custom-sized canvas tailored specifically to your space and vision.

Step 4: Refinement
A thoughtful process helps ensure the final piece feels just right.

A Meaningful Gift
A commissioned painting can also become a deeply personal and memorable gift.
I offer complimentary gift certificates for a future custom painting, painting lesson, framed print, or original artwork. Each boxed certificate includes a miniature easel and sample artwork, ready to personalize, wrap, and give. It’s a thoughtful way to celebrate someone you love with beauty, creativity, and a piece that can reflect their story, their style, and what feels meaningful to them.

Let’s Create Together
A custom painting is more than décor. It’s a way to surround yourself with what feels beautiful, personal, and true.
Many people commission artwork not simply to fill a wall, but to bring a sense of home into their space — to honor a meaningful place, preserve a memory, or live with a landscape or atmosphere that reflects who they are. My hope is to create paintings that feel deeply personal: artwork that carries beauty, emotion, and a sense of belonging.
I’m especially drawn to nature’s fleeting, luminous moments — cloudscapes, open skies, Southwestern landscapes, and the quiet emotional resonance they carry. Translating those experiences onto canvas allows us to preserve something that might otherwise pass by.
My work often explores contrast: bold, graphic brushwork paired with the softness of atmosphere, light, and landscape. That tension mirrors life itself — strength and tenderness, structure and freedom, clarity and mystery. If a particular place, memory, or natural beauty feels like home to you, a commissioned painting can become a lasting way to live with that feeling every day. At its heart, commissioning a painting is about choosing artwork that reflects your life, your story, and your expression of beauty.
